I’m approaching the sun itself
The heat,
melts me into a puddle.
Their smiles and waves
Are solar flares on my skin.
Like Icarus,
I’ve flown to close,
The wax on my wings are melting
Burning my whole.
My body has been set ablaze,
Tho, my heart has been burning,
long before I knew.
I know I cannot enjoy the warmth for long,
I’ll either be consumed by the warmth of the blissful sun,
Or the long fall down will introduce me,
to the cold and solid ground.
Like Icarus,
nothing would make me more happy,
forever in this warmth.
Forever in the sun’s bliss.
I fear I will soon plummet,
down to the earth below,
And meet what I hope never to see,
A foolish hope ended.
My foolish hope ended.
