Everyone has a favorite color
One that provides comfort and reassurance to flourish
Perhaps one that challenges every step in your path
Or simply one that allows you to return to your inner self
Some colors pass by
Remaining only for a season
While others live within one’s temple
Permanent
However when a color sticks
It never feels as if it will flee
Stagnant in its position
It haunts you like a phantom
You attempt to veer away to retrieve your truth
Yet all I see is one hue
And it is not my favorite color
