Aftermath

Junlin Zeng

Sometimes I find it hard to walk,

All the tears I hide will leak out of my eyes and onto my sheets.

Every smile masks the storm beneath.

Living in the aftermath,

‘Cause we are free now, we can go wherever we want.

Bye-bye, I never said that to you,

It’s a ghosting habit I can’t seem to lose.

‘Cause, it’s all over now, we’ve seen how the film ends.

I know I’ve lost a lot, and I know what I have to live without, and I live in the

Aftermath,

I know I’ll find a way out.

Bye-Bye, Bye-Bye, Bye-Bye,

to the best of me.

With the world you brought me I found myself thriving,

But you were some kind of meteor.

Months in this apocalyptic paradise,

I wonder if you left because I didn’t care about the drama you made.

Maybe it’s because I never smoked the same thing.

But we are all free now, we are the aftermath,

So I’ll tell you things I should’ve said long ago.

Bye-Bye, Bye-Bye, Bye-Bye,

We’ve told big lies, sunk others for a life line.

I know I have lost a lot, I know what I have to live without.

I will never meet the best of me again.
